Location
The villa is situated on the edge of a small French village called Sainte-Livrade-Sur-Lot right alongside the banks of the stunning River Lot. A short walk takes you into the centre of the village where you can visit the local cafes and boulangeries to purchase the customary French stick and pan au chocolate. The quiet village has a weekly market every Friday.
Sainte-Livrade-Sur-Lot is in South West France, Aquitaine region known as Lot-et-Garonne, it’s quite simple one of the most stunning parts of France. Rolling country side with numerous vineyards producing the finest wine France can produce.
A very short drive away (5km) is the busier market town of Villeneuve-Sur-Lot where you can spend all day visiting all the local shops, enjoying the market stalls and soaking up the atmosphere of French village life.
The whole area is steeped in local tradition, browsing in open-air markets, fine dining, coffee at the local bar and sightseeing at historic Chateaux’s just part of regions attractions & lifestyle.
This area of the river is classed as a non-flood zone with its slow flow and level being controlled by Barrages upstream so no worries of heavy flow and rising river levels.
Closest airport is Bergerac being only 35 miles away, Bordeaux airport only a short drive too.
The stunning Atlantic Ocean and beaches of the West Coast are within driving distance and make for an enjoyable day out too.
